It Ends With Us – Is it worth the hype?

SPOILER-FREE

Hello, little bookworms! How are you today? I’m here today to talk about one of the most hyped books lately It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover. If this is your first time seeing this book, you must know is SO SO SO famous.

Actually, the first time I heard about this book was when I opened my bookstagram almost a year ago. I saw it so much that I decided to buy it but I didn’t read it until now.

I read the blurb when I bought it but, honestly, I forgot what it was about. All I knew, was that it had made many people cry. And let me tell you, I love it when books made me cry. So if you’re a weeper like me, you’re definitely going to cry.

As I knew nothing about the book, it was a surprise. Everything was unexpected. And to answer my own question, YES YES AND YES. This book is so much worth the hype, and thank you booksta for bringing this book to my life.

It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover

Rating: 5 out of 5.

You know when a book invades you in such a way that you just can’t stop thinking about it? Every second of the day, your mind goes back to it? Even in your dreams?

That’s what this book did to me. I finished it a couple of days ago, and I have been unable to take it out of my mind. I feel like I could write a whole dissertation about it, but at the same time, I have no words. I’m speechless. Whatever I might say, it won’t be enough.

This book was so heartbreaking, so real, so strong, so raw.

This book is told from the main female character POV. I usually enjoy multiple POVs, at least 2, but it worked great here. Lily, our main character, is amazing. I love her. Her growth is fantastic. I’m just so proud of her, I truly admire her. Ryle, I don’t want to say much, but he’s so charming. As for Atlas, I loved his story.

Many people told me I was going to cry my heart out but I had already read more than half of it and I hadn’t shed a tear. I was sad and felt terribly bad about everything. But I didn’t cry. It was a bit of a bummer, as I actually wanted to cry lol But then that changed SO MUCH. ‘Cause I cried my heart out.

This was literally me at one point – via Giphy

This book is so well-written!! The story, the characters, the emotions, everything is so well-developed. It’s such a powerful and important story. I honestly believe every woman should read this book; whether you like romance or not. This book goes beyond that. Something only the brilliant Colleen can put down, and she did it marvellously. This is the third book I read by her, but she’s quickly becoming one of my favourite authors.

I honestly don’t know what else to say without giving spoilers. Just that this book is great, it’s a story that’ll stay with me for many many years. This book made me conscious of so many issues. Things that I thought I knew or understood a little, but no. This novel took me beyond.

If you haven’t read this book yet, do give it a chance. However, keep in mind that it has some really strong triggers.

Also, I heard this book was in the process of becoming a film. To be honest, I don’t know how to feel about it. I only hope it’s great.

Tell me, have you read this book? What did you think of it? Is it worth the hype for you?

love, Lin
