Christmas season is here!!!!  I love Christmas. I think is my favourite holiday by far.

And, of course, Christmas wouldn’t be complete without some cheesy Christmas romance. I have some love-hate relationship with these books and movies. Like, I love to read them, but while I’m doing it is like ugh! this is sooo cheesy and tacky.

So, this year I have some books on my TBR that I want to share with you. It’s quite short but, well, something is better than nothing. These are not new but I’d love to read them.

We met in December

I saw this book all over Instagram last Christmas, so I decided to read it this year. It doesn’t have a great rating (3.43) but I’m curious. Goodreads says: Following a year in the life of a twenty-something British woman who falls hard for her London flatmate, this clever, fun, and unforgettable romantic comedy is the perfect feel-good holiday read. Have you read it?

Last Christmas in Paris

OK. This book has all the promising things. Christmas, Paris, Romance, and WWI. It might be the book that I’m more excited about. It’s about Evie, a privileged young lady that longs to play a greater part in the conflict. And Thomas, Evie’s brother’s best friend, who’s actually fighting in the war and also faces family issues back home. While apart they actually get to know each other more. They had promised to spend Christmas of 1914 in Paris, but war happened. Then in Christmas 1968. With failing health, Thomas returns to Paris—a cherished packet of letters in hand—determined to lay to rest the ghosts of his past. But one final letter is waiting for him.
Pff!! yep. I want to read it.

One day in December

Just by the name, I have some feelings that it could be similar to One Day by David Nicholls. I saw this book when it came out in 2018 but never really got to read it. Well, this is the year. Goodreads says, Two people. Ten chances. One unforgettable love story. OK. kinda exciting.

An Ivy Hill Christmas

So I’ve never read anything from Julie Klassen. But I’ve heard many good things. So this Christmas story comes at the right time. Here is how it goes: Richard Brockwell, is the younger son of this very important family but he never comes home because of the past. However, his mother threatens him to stop funding his carefree life, and he’s obliged to come home. There he sees Arabella, the first love he disappointed years ago. But now, Arabella is determined to have nothing to do with him. I kinda know how it’ll end, yet I want to read it. Sounds fun!

The Gift of the Magi

I’ve heard so much about this classic Christmas book but never got to read it. So, this year I’ve decided to do it. It’s set in New York at the turn of the twentieth century and tells how Della has just one dollar and eighty-seven cents to buy her beloved a Christmas present. She has nothing to sell except her only treasure–her long, beautiful brown hair. A simple tale about the rewards of unselfish love.

Letters from Father Christmas

Last but definitely not least. Our beloved Tolkien and his lovely compilations of letters filled with wonderful stories. Can you imagine writing to Father Christmas and actually getting a reply? For more than twenty years, the children of J.R.R. Tolkien received letters from the North Pole – from Father Christmas himself!

Sooo yep! these are the books I’m more excited about. I reaaaaally hope I can read them all. You know, sometimes time is savage.

Mi TBR de Navidad

¿Qué es TBR? Por sus siglas en inglés que significan “To Be Read” que quiere decir “Lo que leeré”.

La temporada de Navidad ya está aquí!!!! Me encanta la Navidad. Creo que es mi fiesta favorita por lejos!

Y, por supuesto, Navidad no estaría completa sin un poco de romance cursi. Tengo una relación de amor-odio con estos libros y películas. Me encantan pero mientras las veo o leo es como Ugh! es taaaan cursi y de mal gusto. No les pasa?

Bueno, este año tengo algunos libros en mi lista TBR que les quiero compartir. Es bastante corta, pero, bueno, algo es algo no? Estos libros no son para nada nuevos pero de verdad tengo muchas ganas de leerlos. Así que vamos!

Traté de buscar los libros en español, pero lamentablemente encontré tres. Si conoces la edición en español, por favor déjala en los comentarios :)!

Nos Conocimos en Diciembre

Vi este libro por todo Pinterest e Instagram la navidad pasada, así que, decidí leerlo este año. No tiene una puntuación demasiado buenas (3.43), pero estoy muy curiosa para no leerlo. En Goodreads dice: Un año en la vida de una veinteañera mujer británica, que se enamora de su compañero de piso en Londres. Es ingenioso, divertido y una comedia romance inolvidable, perfecta para esta temporada. ¿Has leído este libro?

La última Navidad en París

OK. Este libro tiene todos los ingredientes prometedores de un buen libro. Navidad, Paris, Romance y IGM. Es quizás el libro por el cual estoy más emocionada. Se trata de Evie, una joven de familia privilegiada que anhela tener un rol para significativo en la Guerra. Y de Thomas, el mejor amigo del hermano de Evie, quien realmente está peleando en la Guerra, además, tiene que enfrentar problemas familiares. Irónicamente, ahora que están separados comienzan a enviarse cartas volviéndose cada vez más cercanos. Ellos habían planeado pasar la navidad de 1914 en París, pero la Guerra duró más de lo que ambos pensaban. Luego, en la navidad de 1968, Thomas con una salud muy frágil vuelve a París, junto a un querido paquete de cartas en sus manos y determinado a dejar el pasado atrás, pero una última carta espera por él. Uff! Sip, definitivamente lo quiero leer!

Un día de Diciembre

Este sí está en español!!!! Solo por el nombre, me da una sensación de que puede ser similar a Siempre el Mismo Día de David Nicholls. Vi este libro cuando salió el 2018, pero nunca me animé a leerlo. Bueno, este es el año! Lo que Goodreads dice del libro es: Dos personas. Diez oportunidades. Una historia de amor inolvidable. OK, sí suena emocionante.

Una Navidad en Ivy Hill

Aún no leo nada de Julie Klassen, pero he escuchado cosas muuuuy buenas de sus libros. Por eso, esta historia de Navidad llega en el momento preciso. Esta es la trama: Richard Brockwell, es el hijo más joven de una familia importante de Ivy Hill, pero nunca viene a su casa debido a un pasado que aún lo persigue. Pero, su madre lo amenaza con no seguir dándole dinero a menos que vaya para Navidad, así, él se ve obligado a volver a casa. Allí se encuentra con Arabella, el primer amor que desilusionó hace varios años, pero ahora, Arabella no quiere nada con Richard. Como que ya sé cómo terminará pero aún así quiero leerlo, suena divertido!

El Regalo de los Reyes Magos

Este también está en español!! He escuchado mucho de este clásico de Navidad, pero nunca lo he leído. Por eso, este año decidí leerlo. La historia se lleva acabo en Nueva York a finales del siglo 20 y cuenta cómo Della tiene solo U$ 1.87 centavos para comprarle un regalo a su amado. No tiene de dónde conseguir más dinero, solo tiene su único tesoro – su hermoso y largo cabello castaño. Un simple cuento sobre la recompensa del amor desinteresado.

Cartas de Papá Noel

Por último, pero definitivamente no menos importante, otro clásico de clásicos de nuestro querido Tolkien y sus hermosas cartas llenas de historias maravillosas. ¿Te puedes imaginar escribirle a Santa y que realmente te responda? Por más de veinte años los hijos de J.R.R. Tolkien recibieron cartas del Polo Norte de parte del mismo Papá Noel! También está en español!
