✔️single parents

And we’re back with this heartwarming family and their ranch! I’m having so much fun watching each of them find love. I was SO eager for Bennet’s story, and after that ending in Chasing Happiness, I was already hooked!
What is it about?
It was over between Bennett Owens and me—until I had no place to go but back to Willowbrook.
Seven years ago, he walked away, and I built a new life for myself, swearing never to look back. But when my husband is arrested, that life collapses, leaving my daughter and me with nothing but a three-month plan to return to the small ranch town before disappearing again.
Bennett’s a single dad now. Our girls become inseparable on sight, making it impossible to keep him at arm’s length. Especially when I end up working alongside him, where every glance chips away at the walls I’ve built.
The years apart haven’t dulled the pull between us. Bennett remains protective and patient, determined to prove that we deserve a second chance. But he has no idea about the secret I’ve kept since the day he left.
Because once he learns the truth, he may never forgive me. And like it or not, we’ll be bound together forever—by the daughter he never knew was his.
Bennet and Delaney’s story was beautiful but also a little bittersweet. Don’t worry—it has a HEA! But it was so clear that they were meant to be together, and I’m so happy they found their way back to each other.
I have to admit, the single-parent trope isn’t one of my personal favourites, but the kids always add such sweetness to the story, and this book was no exception. I loved how naturally the girls fit into the story and how adorable they were.
What I didn’t enjoy as much was that some issues were barely touched on or quickly swept under the rug without much elaboration or depth. And I have another HUGE “but,” though it’s quite spoilery. (If you still want to read it, click here to my Goodreads’s review)
Still, I’m SO invested in this family and can’t wait to read the next book in the series!
Thank you to Hambright PR and Piper Rayne for the eARC. All opinions are my own.
love, Lin
