Hello book lovers! The War of Lost Hearts trilogy is re-launching with new covers and book 2 is already out!! This is one of my favourite fantasy trilogies and you should definitely read it too
I thought book one was good, but oh my goodness — this one absolutely blew me away. If I could give it 6 stars, I would. This was a real ride: heartbreaking, intense, emotional. I can’t even tell you how many times I sobbed while reading.
My love for Tisaanah and Max has intensified tenfold. There isn’t a single thing I don’t love about these two — they complement each other so perfectly, both in heart and mind.
Aefe was such a fantastic new addition. I loved her from her very first chapter, and I was so eager to see how her story would eventually collide with Tisaanah and Max’s.
Getting to explore more of the Fae world was amazing! I do still feel like there’s a lot more to uncover, so I’m hoping book three gives us that extra depth. And the found family elements we get here? Absolutely loved them.
The first half of the book is slower, but it’s necessary — we’re learning the context, the world, and the new characters. But right before the second half… CHAOS. I was literally on the edge of my seat. The plot twists were phenomenal. I saw some smaller ones coming, but the big ones absolutely destroyed me.
Carissa ripped my heart out and stomped on it. I have never felt as powerless and devastated as I did reading Aefe’s storyline — the injustice and cruelty were unbearable. Just thinking about it now makes me emotional. Honestly, I don’t think I stopped crying for the last 30% of the book.
Now I’m left with a million questions and a thousand fears 😭 but I’m hoping book three gives this marvellous trilogy the perfect conclusion — because it’s quickly becoming one of my all-time favourites.
